All Carrick Rieslings are hand harvested, and picked early to preserve the powerful floral aromatics and bright citrus acidity which are characteristic of Central Otago. The wine has been whole bunch pressed and fermented with wild yeast. The gentle handling of this wine means that it has been bottled without fining. Packed with sweet orange blossoms stone fruits and honeyed aromatics with a salty minerality adding complexity. The palate is layered with vibrant lush citrus characters which follow through to the long finish.

A dry and textured style which capitalises on Sangiovese's delicious 'sweet' core of sour cherry fruit.

Closeburn is Chard Farm's un-oaked Chardonnay. The fruit is grown throughout the Central Otago region and exhibits the regions natural elegant fruit flavours and mineral complexity. The wine is fermented in tank to retain its bright fruit. It is then left to rest on its yeast lees to gain some doughy complexity and softness. This is a refreshing full-bodied wine, unencumbered by oak and superb with food. Juicy nectarine and pear fruits, with apple blossom floral tones giving a nice lift to the attractive bouquet. The palate displays wonderful purity of tree fruit flavour. There is a nice flow to the structure and length, with good balance and chewy acidity.

Chard Farm's Pinot Gris is made from fruit grown on our Tiger, and Sinclair vineyards in the Parkburn area of Cromwell. All the grapes are hand harvested and fermented in small lots in stainless steel tanks helping to retain fruit purity and finesse. The wine is full, dry, and textural, and displays excellent fruit structure, intensity, and mineral length. Leaps out of the glass with a rich floral bouquet and layers of spicy pear and quince fruit. The ample autumn fruits build into a supple and full palate before easing out to a pleasantly persistent finish.

Chard Farm's Central Otago grown Sauvignon Blanc is made to display classic Sauvignon herbaceousness, a touch of tropical fruit and a textural structure we only see in Central Otago Sauvignon Blanc. It is something a little different. The wine is full and textural in the mouth and has long lasting flavour. Handpicked and whole bunch pressed this is a small batch wine. Wild yeast fermentation, extended lees contact, and a small portion fermented in barrel gives the wine the texture and length we are looking for. An alluring medley of passion fruit, gooseberry, and fresh citrus with subtle herbal undertones. Vibrant and zesty, enticing with sweet tropical notes, balanced with a tangy burst of citrus. The gooseberry and herbal notes add a refreshing complexity and lively finish.

This is a multidimensional Chardonnay with a core of ripe stone fruit and fragrant citrus and citrus blossom, overlaid with subtle aromas of roasted nuts, mealiness and a note of smoky gunflint. The palate is powerful, yet taught and fresh with a fine, slate like texture, great length and balanced fresh acidity. While approachable now, this wine will age positively for 15 plus years if cellared well.
