Babich's flagship Irongate Vineyard is situated in an old shingle bed of the Ngaruroro River in the Gimblett Gravels appellation of Hawke's Bay. First produced in 1987, this single vineyard wine has evolved to represent the very best of their craft. Crop-levels are heavily restricted to deliver excellent flavour concentration in the grapes, with the final blend delivering a rich, round and complex wine. Blackberry, blueberry, cigar box and plum aromas. Inviting and warm with a touch of spice, charcuterie and well-integrated oak. Smooth and seamless with layers of sweet dark fruits, cocoa, leather, cedar and liquorish. Dense, concentrated and vibrant with a long finish.

In the early 1980's Babich Wines was the first New Zealand wine company to win a Gold Medal for Pinot Noir, and that legacy of excellence remains. From their 100% certified sustainable vineyards in Marlborough's prime subregions, comes this smoothly luxurious Pinot Noir. The Patriarch is Babich's flagship red wine crafted in honour of the winery founder and New Zealand wine industry pioneer, Josip Babich. Light floral, smoky notes over complex almond, blackberry and plum aromas. Presents initially with a savoury, umami hit that opens into fruit cake with Christmas spices. Layers fresh berries with black Doris plum. Complex, elegant and dense. Warm and lingering.

This Pinot Noir has generous aromas of boysenberries, ripe damson plum and nuances of warm spice. The Bouquet has boysenberries, ripe damson plum and nuances of warm spice. On the palate is has juicy blueberries and black plum, balanced with gentle tannins and a subtle toasty finish. It's a superb food match paired with duck, lamb or baked vegetable pasta or on its own.

A medium intensity ruby red colour and a spicy bouquet with notes of red fruit and currants make this a round and ample wine with a very supple palate.

The vines of Château des Laurets are spread over two neighbouring appellations: Montagne-Saint-Émilion and Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion. The vineyards are planted on south-facing slopes with limestone outcrops. The excellent clay-limestone soil gives this Merlot-based Saint-Émilion wine its distinctive taste. The 2017, bottled in July 2019, has a rather intense ruby red colour. The first impression on the nose offers a subtle blend of black fruit aromas with a dominant of blackcurrant. The mouth reveals a frank and assumed structure directed all in length, no excessive opulence in this vintage all in 'lace'. The aromas of fresh and crisp fruit give the wine a juicy side, all well chiselled by an already well-integrated woodiness. As is often the case at Château des Laurets, the small, spicy notes on the finish perfectly enhance the lovely tension of the overall. Gravel Track pays tribute to the long gravel and limestone track that winds its way through Barossa Valley Wine Company's historic 60-year-old Farms vineyard. This wine shows vibrant plum and blackberry characters on the nose with hints of chocolate and earthiness flow through to a rich, bold palate packed with dark fruit flavours. Juicy and fruit driven, powerful yet elegant and with hints of black pepper spice through the mid-palate lead to a rich, velvety tannin finish.

The soil of this appellation is composed of clay and limestone and benefits from an oceanic and temperate climate. Limited yields, hand tending, careful selection and minimal interference during the natural ripening of the grapes. The nose is rich and develops intense aromas of black fruits (plum, cherry, blackberry) with spicy notes (cinnamon, pepper). Fruity and delicious on the palate, the tannins are supple with a long finish. Ideal with red meats, dishes in sauce and cheese.
